We thought you may like some feedback of our experience as to what is happening in the wider space at the moment re: IR35 – you may (or may not) find it useful!
In January 2021, we spoke to over 500 PSCs/limited company contractors (“PSCs”) looking to move to other solutions due to the IR35 changes in April this year.
We have already set up their new solution in the background and they are all ready to go for 80% of these PSCs. This is mainly due to end clients making ‘blanket’ decisions or due to roles being deemed “inside” IR35 through a Status Determination Statement (SDS).
Movement of workers is rapidly picking up pace.
We have especially noticed a rapid increase in enquiries over the last week and all indications from feedback we are getting from our Clients and workers is that this will continue rapidly from now on.
As a business, we have planned for this large movement of workers and the increased strain on admin and resources. We have taken on an additional 15 members of staff since November 2020 and we are working from our offices with the additional security of a recent purchase of 22 Air Purifiers that kills 99.99% of viruses including COVID-19!
We have a specialist team at ADVANCE who will reassure, provide take home pay calculations and information at the end of a call. This team, “Contractor Relations” have taken what we learnt from January & February last year to ensure we are providing world class service to PSCs/limited contractors who are unsure of how Umbrella & CIS work.
Understanding their challenges with Salary Sacrifice, tax and what to do with their limited company is so important to them. The more time we have prior to April, ensuring these PSC/limited contractors understand the changes the better. Setting them up now to be ready is so important rather than a rush in April 2021.
